Autumn is fast approaching and the rains are falling.

Exciting to be in the last Quarter of the year. Working a lot. Executive Search across African countries has sort of taking most of my time the last few months and the dark days and wet nights, no longer bother.

Currently working on a few CEO / CFO roles across East Africa and recently taking up some search assignments in FMCG and Financial Industries in West Africa.

Getting more involved in the Nigerian, Ghananian and Kenya recruitment industry, with a slight tilt to online recruitment projects.

For now, I am enjoying what I am doing.

Bit of catch up with things on the International recruitment scene. Been working on some assignments and seriously looking for quite a few specialist candidates.

While the effects of the global economy and financial crisis is beginning to affect emerging markets, we seem to be getting quite a few finance jobs from Nigeria.

At the moment, am searching for a Finance Director for a few firms. One of the businesses is a Telecommunications firm, and candidates must have worked in similar capacity.

Another of my client is an FMCG/Manufacturing industry who is looking for a CFO/Finance Director from multinational FMCG. Both roles will be based in Lagos, with International travel.

Typically, candidates for both finance roles should have around 10-15 years experience in Financial Management, with strong understanding of International Financial standards and reporting (GAAP, IFRS).

If you are someone with those skills or you know someone, please contact me.

It has been an eventful year – with the massive impact of the Global Financial crisis and the impressive outcome of the American politics.

I have spent the last few months focusing on developing a more strategic and effective Executive Search & Selection firm for Nigeria and West Africa, and the future is promising.

Today, am reflecting a bit on the year 2008 and seriously making plans for 2009 – like many other people. Hopefully, it will be exciting for my professional career and business and the anticipated global recession will not have a major influence.

This blog (after many trials), will exclusively focus on my personal and professional thoughts on recruitment in Nigeria, Executive Search and Selection in Africa and Talent sourcing in Europe and the US.

Wishing everyone a wonderful year in 2009!
