Franck La Pinta will be joining us as part of the exceptional speaker lineup for Social Recruiting Conference 2011 in London on June 30th.
Franck is responsible for the governance of Careers, the Societe Generale HR web site, and works on the internal social network. According to Franck, he is interested in the uses of Web 2.0: their opportunities for HR, their impact on the organization and working methods, the changes they impose on HR marketing and communication. In short, everything concerned by HR 2.0. Below is a short interview of what Franck will be presenting at SRCONF 2011.
What has been your experience with Social Media Recruitment at Societe Generale?
Société Générale’s HR department has been a pioneer within the Group, encouraging the use of Social Media as a means to meet our candidates where they are most present. Our @CareersSocgen Twitter account was launched in June 2009 as the first HR-dedicated account for any company in France’s CAC 40. Since then, we have used other 2.0 tools (including LinkedIn, Viadeo and Facebook, a disability blog and a HR Web TV) to integrate our job offers, and strengthen our employer image. It has been great to be at the forefront of these new trends, testing to see which innovative tools and platforms can help us best meet our goals.
How have you benefited from recruiting with Social Media?
Social Media have provided a space in which we can actively engage and dialogue with job seekers and candidates. We can respond to concerns, provide advice and share opportunities sincerely and in real-time.
Could you give us a sneak peek of what you will be presenting at the conference?
I will be speaking about how HR departments are facing a moment of revolutionary change in the behaviours of both job candidates and internet users—and thus, the actions of the HR departments must change too. Polished corporate marketing is anathema to this millennial generation that is now coming into its own. Thanks to new media, they are increasingly empowered by the accessibility of information and value reputations of their (potential or current) employers. Social Media is not just a set of additional tools for companies to communicate, rather these are entirely new—revolutionary even—methods of communication for the entire organization.
