One of the keynote presentations at #SWCONF 2011 was by David Christopher, Social Media Business Leader at Oracle EMEA. He spoke about Social Workplace: Making of a Socially Connected Enterprise.
The slides are embeded below including some key points noted from his presentation.
One thing that David covered during his presentation was senior executive buy-in. (This turned out to be a very hot topic at the conference.) He stressed that at the stage between “being ready to go” and actually implementing social workplace strategies, you have to find someone higher in the organization who will sponsor you.
He suggests having regular sessions with leaders of work teams to review what policies will change and how they can enable their teams to perform better in a social workplace. Then, build a roadmap with set milestones to make sure goals are met.
